Illuminate the Start of the Holiday Season in Pismo Beach
Lights, camera, Pismo Beach! On November 30, you’ll be waiting for the sun to go down so you can get a glimpse of the Central Coast’s coolest holiday light-fests and activities.
Light Up Pismo Beach
The city of Pismo Beach may represent sun, sand, and surf, but the official lighting of the city after dark is one of the brightest and most anticipated events. City officials and local dignitaries will be present to join locals and guests and throw the switch for Light Up Pismo Beach, which kicks off the official start of this holiday season.
A Harmonious Holiday
What’s a city-lighting ceremony without accompanying activities to keep kids and adults entertained? Holiday Harmony is being held in conjunction with Light Up Pismo Beach and is scheduled to take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Beach Bum Holiday Rental parking lot in downtown Pismo Beach, just off of Dolliver and Pomeroy.
Twinkle lights aren’t the only things to see, however. Fresh, real snow is a major draw for children of all ages, and it provides a delightful backdrop to the other bits of liveliness planned for the kids. Bounce houses will be teeming with life and laughter, while cookie decorating is irresistible to the littlest hands and the biggest imaginations. These kids’ activities, including holiday crafts, run from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., but you’ll want to pause for a moment to appreciate some additional Pismo Beach illumination.
The Finest Central Coast Christmas Tree
The annual tree-lighting will take place at 6 p.m. at the Pismo Beach Pier. While interested youngsters can pay a visit to Santa at Santa’s Village, be aware that the jolly fellow and his carolers will be gathering at the Beach Bum Holiday Rental parking lot at 5:30 p.m. before he ceremoniously makes his way to the tree lighting not via sleigh, but by fire truck.
The music and caroling will continue through the tree lighting, and hot drinks will be on tap to break any chill that’s in the air. Santa will pose for photo ops at this entirely free event that truly signifies the magic of the season and the true child in all of us.
Holiday Digs in Pismo Beach
People come from near and far to enjoy the holiday festivities in Pismo Beach. And what better place to stay than a Pismo Beach hotel that gives you direct beach access after you’re all caroled out? The SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel offers a cozy but hip place to kick back and enjoy the season after you take in the sights and sounds of downtown Pismo Beach.
