Take a Spring Break in Pismo Beach

Spring Break at Pismo BeachIf you want to get away for spring break but think all beaches are overrun by collegiate revelers, it’s time to try Pismo Beach on for size. The Central Coast has all the action a family could want in a mini-vacay during the school year. Hit some shops, enjoy some eats, or take part in outdoor activities in the great March weather that settles on Pismo Beach.

Chow Down During Spring Break in Pismo Beach

Whatever your family’s tastes, Pismo Beach restaurants are varied and delicious. Dig into authentic, western, down-home cooking at F. McLintock’s Saloon and Dining House, where steaks and ribs satisfy the adults and the Kids Corral menu offers the kind of fare even the pickiest young eater will love. Two Pismo Beach family favorite food locations are Splash Café, known for their award-winning clam chowder, and the Cracked Crab which offers fine seafood in the most casual atmosphere, and one of the tastiest kids’ menus in town.

Make a Strike in Pismo Beach

Nothing brings families together like… bowling. If you don’t believe that, then you’ve never been to Pismo Bowl. A little healthy competition never hurt anyone, and the classic Pismo Bowl offers more than just pins and bowling balls – like Pizza Bowl and Karaoke Bowl! This family-fun destination was established in 1939 and that retro feel is still present, with above-ground ball returns and a coffee shop diner. There’s an arcade and pool tables for the youngsters, and a premium selection of beer for the parents who are ready to relax.

Take Part in Pismo Beach’s Eggtastic Easter

For those spending Easter in Pismo Beach, the holiday just won’t be complete without a special egg hunt for kids big and small. The City of Pismo Beach Parks and Recreation Department hosts a free Easter Eggstravaganza every year featuring an egg hunt with different hunt times for various age groups (this may just help keep the siblings from fighting over their jellybean haul!). Head to Dinosaur Caves Park in Shell Beach on Saturday, March 30, to take part in the hunt, and take advantage of the games, bounce houses, face painting, balloon artist, and more. And unless your kids have deep pockets, don’t forget the Easter baskets!

Before you head out, make sure to hop on by our own Easter egg hunt at the hotel. The SeaCrest Hoppy Easter Egg Hunt is on Saturday, March 30, at 10am.

Make It a Family Affair in Pismo Beach

Your kids won’t even mind leaving their Xbox behind or being asked to put their phones and handheld gaming systems away when you introduce them to the fun that’s ever present in Pismo Beach. Downtown Pismo is easy to bike or walk, and it’s full of eclectic shops and eateries to satisfy everyone’s personality.

And it’s impossible for anyone – even a bored teen – to ignore the power and impressiveness of Mother Nature when you’re on the Central Coast. From sun up to sun down, the wildlife, the flora and fauna, the Pacific Ocean, it’s all an amazing sight to behold, whether you’re strolling down Pismo Pier, building sand castles on the beach, or sitting on the rooftop terrace of the SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel. You can even bring the family dog to our pet-friendly accommodations and they’ll get the Pismo Beach hotel experience too. With direct beach access from the hotel, your kids will be impressed with your coolness, especially if you treat them to some surf lessons or an ATV ride at the Oceano Dunes.
