It’s Harvest Time in Pismo Beach
This is sunny California, and the Central Coast knows how to do autumn right. Fall events in and around Pismo Beach highlight the season in delicious ways so visitors will feel at home, nurtured, and completely satiated by their visits to San Luis Obispo County.
Pick a Pumpkin…on the Pismo Pier
We know you’ve been planning the most original, scariest, or funniest costume all year—now’s the time to jump into character! Make your way to the Pismo Beach Pier, Saturday October 26 for Pumpkins on the Pier and choose from 500 available pumpkins. The family fun will kick off at 10am and include costume contests, carnival games, and pumpkin decorating.
Following this fun-filled Halloween morning is a Trick or Treat Extravaganza 12pm-2pm at participating, local downtown businesses.
A Hearty Weekend of Wine and Good Deeds
San Luis Obispo Wine Country offers up another festive, tasty event for area residents and visitors with their annual Rockin’ Harvest Celebration, November 1-3. This hearty weekend highlights the sights, scents, and flavors of autumn with an extravaganza of local food and wine.
Friday kicks off three days of wine and fun with a winemakers’ dinner featuring local cuisine paired with the best wines of SLO wine country, and the weekend culminates in Sunday’s winery open houses. The main event, however, is reserved for Saturday, November 2, at Avila Beach Golf Resort. A grand wine tasting, artisan foods, and live music by local indie-pop fave, Fialta, will accompany a wine auction featuring a broad selection of rare wines, culinary treats, and SLO wine country destination experiences. Enjoy these packages while taking the opportunity to raise a paddle and support the Assistance League of SLO County and S.A.V.E. (Sexual Assault Victim Education).
