Get Ready for a Musical Autumn in Pismo Beach
From crunching leaves to smashing pumpkins, there are any number of sounds associated with autumn, but one of the greatest notes about this season in Pismo Beach is the musical celebrations. Here are two of our favorite fall music gatherings.
Get Jazzy in Pismo Beach
The 37th Annual Jubilee by the Sea is a highly anticipated world-class traditional jazz festival held in Pismo Beach. Drawing jazz fans from all over the country, the event will be held at multiple venues from October 24-26, 2013, including the Pismo Beach Veteran’s Memorial Building, Marie Callender’s banquet room, tents at the St. Anthony’s fairground, and on the beach at the Addie Street parking lot. All of the event locations are connected by a shuttle bus system so you can make it to the New Orleans-style jazz and big band performances of your choice.
From indoor jazz to open-air jazz, there will be about 120 one-hour performances by 20 bands and guest artists throughout the weekend. Each jazz event will be locally catered and offer room to shake a leg for the folks who bring their dancing shoes.
Band Together for this Fall Musical Celebration
One of the finest ways to celebrate fall in Pismo Beach is by attending the 35th Annual Marching Band Review, being held on November 2, 2013. The competition will take place on Dolliver between Hinds and Main Streets from 9 a.m. to noon with awards being presented on Pismo Pier at 1:30 p.m.
Whether you’re in search of football-season nostalgia, sharp-suited snare drummers and horn sections, or are simply supporting your child’s band, this marching band and drumline competition supports music programs from the state of California competing in several divisions.
Bring your lawn chairs and stake out your territory before the music begins so you can support your favorite performers.
All that Jazz and more in Pismo Beach
With Marie Callender’s right next door and Hinds and Main Streets just steps away from the SeaCrest OceanFront Hotel in Pismo Beach, anyone visiting this fall for one of these two musical celebrations will find our digs a convenient home base. What’s more, you can take advantage of the rest of what the Central Coast has to offer during your downtime – our direct beach access, nearby wineries, and the picturesque Pismo Pier.
